When the summer sun blazes, sunglasses become a must-have accessory. Not only do they shield your eyes from harsh rays, but they also add a touch of style to your look. But finding the perfect pair can be tricky. That's where Harish Kumar, from the In-Optics Eyewear Exhibition, comes in to help.

Before you start browsing for sunglasses, it's crucial to know your face shape. Each face shape has unique characteristics that can influence which sunglasses will suit you best. Kumar shares some simple sunglasses buying tips.

Start by measuring your cheekbone to cheekbone distance. Place a tape measure just below your eye to find the top of your cheekbone, then measure to the same point on the opposite side of your face. Next, measure your jawline by finding the ends of your jawbone below your ears and measuring from one end to the other, around the bottom of your face.

Once you have these measurements, you need to go for face shape identification. It could be diamond, square, round, rectangular, oval, or heart-shaped. Facial features and sunglass styles go hand in hand. Each shape corresponds to specific sunglass styles that enhance your features.

For example, if you have a round face, opt for rectangular or square frames to create a slimmer appearance. Square faces look great with round or oval-shaped sunglasses to balance sharp angles. Oval faces are versatile and can pull off any shape, but avoid oversized frames. Rectangular faces should go for oversized square or rectangular frames. Diamond faces should choose smaller frames to complement their wide cheekbones. And heart-shaped faces suit round-shaped or cat-eye style sunglasses.

In addition to face shape analysis, consider your facial features too. Soft and curvy lines go well with rectangle, cat-eye, or square sunglasses, while straight and angular features pair nicely with round sunglasses.

Kumar also shares some timeless tips for choosing sunglasses for your face. He suggests opting for classic round-shaped sunglasses, which suit most face shapes. Black or brown lenses offer versatility, but lighter lens colours can add a modern touch, especially in spring and summer.

So, before you step out into the summer sun, make sure to consider the points mentioned in this sunglasses selection guide. It will help you find sunglasses that not only protect your eyes but also enhance your unique features and style.
